"Common" came about while trying to write the perfect summer song for rock radio: the song of which it's really hard to grow tired, because you just enjoy it that much. Now, I admit this rarely happens in my case (although I can point to a few examples, should anyone care to ask). I was surprised to find that this tune sticks with me... and with most of the people to whom it's already been played. It's catchy with a singalong chorus, and at little over two-and-a-half minutes, it's quickly in and out, leaving you wanting more. Isn't that what a good single is supposed to do? Enjoy summer.
