Inspiring. Truthful. Unapologetic. RED DOG is a New Orleans-based artist that pushes the lyrical and musical limits of hip-hop. His latest offering "Trinity: The Last Revolution" is his third solo album and represents his growth as both an artist and a Christian. The CD features hip-hop star Dee-1, Contemporary Christian singer Lauren Settembrini, underground master Truth Universal, philharmonic cellist Anat Nevo, rock guitarist Eric Maldonado, R&B singer J9, Gospel Singer Don Jackson and Reggae Singer Claudius England. RED DOG has lived the mission in his music by serving in prisons, working with the homeless and compromised youth. His music represents honest unabashed looks into the flaws of modern Christianity, cultural appropriation, and social justice issues. "I think my growth as a Christian is evident on this CD," said RED DOG. "When I listen to my first album back in 2005, I hear a dramatic shift in my approach and my dogmatic stances. Now, the messages have shifted to match where I am in my spiritual walk with God. It has simplified so much as I've grown in faith. And that message is, 'We have to love the poor, the downtrodden, and preach the gospel through our love and actions, not just through empty words." The music was produced by legendary New Orleans jazz musician and jazz professor Tyrone Jackson through his moniker Maestro T. The music ranges from hip-hop to jazz to reggae to rock. Lyrically, however, RED DOG has never been better. His rapid-fire staccato style punctuates the trap song "That Gospel Though" but he is reflective and soulful on the duet with Lauren Settembrini on "Now I Believe." He also performs with hip-hop legends Truth Universal, Dee-1 and Daddy-O on the prophetic song, "Apocalypse Now."
