Ashley Harris is proud to announce the release of her newest CD project, "Coming Home," her most personal and heartfelt project in her prolific career as a recording artist. The release of Coming Home, the inaugural release on newly formed Ragamuffin Records, arrives at a particularly rewarding time for Ashley, who has just been nominated for 2013 Best Female Vocalist by Georgia-Country.com. Unlike other Ashley Harris releases, including the critically acclaimed Country CD "Unfinished Dreams" featuring the World Indie Record Report number #1 single Unfinished Woman, Coming Home takes a slightly different, yet not unexpected musical departure for Ashley - Bluegrass Gospel. Offering a mix of original songs and Gospel standards reminiscent of Amy Grant meets Alison Krauss, Coming Home feels like a beautiful organic listening experience complete with traditional acoustic instruments and gorgeous harmony vocals — featuring Ashley's musician/singer husband Greg Gronholm — to carry the listener to new spiritual heights. Coming Home delivers something for everyone - including a hauntingly beautiful, minimal arrangement of Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone), spotlighting Ashley's soulful voice backed by a striking, emotive piano performance by co-producer Chris Arias. Other Gospel hymns include intimate and captivating versions of Softly and Tenderly, Jesus Paid It All, and a joyful rendition of Come Thou Fount/Be Thou My Vision, which takes listeners on a wonderfully playful Bluegrass/Celtic spin. Powerful original songs include the soulful Lay It Down and Sweet Reunion, the feel good and easy listening Abounding Love, the tender “In My Heaven” and the radio-ready Country crossover Surprise, Surprise. Ashley delivers a very organic, haunting version of the gorgeous Emmylou Harris cover of All My Tears and a shimmering ballad of Matt Redman’s 10,000 Reasons featuring soulful harmonies by husband Greg Gronholm. Coming Home features a host of talented co-writers including Chris Arias, Greg Gronholm, Brian Perry, Vicki Rickles, Jack Hargrove, Mark Waldron and Kregg Barentine. Like previous Christian CD releases by Ashley, including “Change My Heart” and “The Best Is Yet to Come,” songs on Coming Home are deeply spiritual, expressing Ashley’s love of God, her trust in her Savior, and her unending appreciation for the gifts she has been given by her Creator.
