简介
Embleton released their first LP, an Americana-infused collection of porch swing rock tunes, titled It Did Me Well in March, 2015. The album was mostly recorded live, in an old living room in the heart of Canton, Ohio. "Musically, this is an album that’s drenched in Americana roots... The songwriting stands out and pushes this above records coming from a similar place. There’s a laidback lilt at play here that draws the listener in and then refuses to let you out" -Sonic Breakfast "Embleton's It Did Me Well... a set of tight, lush, upbeat alt-country songs reminiscent of Dawes and Ryan Adams. The nine songs here form a cohesive whole that shows refined songwriting and arranging skills on the part of bandleader Kevin Embleton." - Independent Clauses "For a debut, this album feels incredibly mature to me. Throughout the whole record, a steady, consistent sound shines through. Embleton’s music evokes acoustic, rock-n-roll, country, and folk in a pure and unabashed format." - Alt Ohio "Kevin paints his songs with bold imagery but omits key details. The listener must draw upon their own experiences to fill in the gaps. Amid country waltzes and strummed melodies, everyone shares the same humanity, the same emotions, the same story." - Let Us Make A Record "Tying together the stylistic twists and turns that pepper the album are the lovely, tenderly sung lyrics. Kevin Embleton’s voice serves as the core of the album, whether he’s going for the alternative country rock dreaminess of the title track or the intimate setting of “Sad Songs and Waltzes”. - Skope Magazine "Alt-Country rockers Embleton create tales of heartbreak and wandering. Spending much of his life in the buckeye state, creative force Kevin Embleton has released a solid reflection on what it means to wrestle with the narrative of home in the powerful It Did Me Well." - Ear To The Ground
