简介

The Blanks are: James Peterson - Vocals, Harmonica Dan Nordheim - Guitar, Piano, Organ, Backing Vocals Todd McKenzie - Bass, Keyboard, Backing Vocals Mike Ried - Drum Kit, Backing Vocals The Blanks are currently the greatest rock and roll band in Michigan, certainly in their own home and most definitely in their own mind. With raw delight they play music for themselves letting those fortunate enough to hear thank them with a turned back or cold stare. These unassuming geniuses have created something not quite new, and not quite forgotten: a blend of treble laced garage riffs, spirited backbeats, pop wankings and sauced up vocals. The results are as messy as their recordings and as true to what is good about rock and roll as anything the velvets, the stones, the beatles, bowie, dylan, the ramones, or your favorite band did before they knew how to play well. It's true and pure and if you don't like it the blanks feel sorry for you, and wish you a good day and good luck. You'll need it. Some quotes "It's garage-band rock, wedded to the uncompromising proto-punk ethic of Iggy Pop or the Ramones."-- Chris Rietz Lansing State Journal "There's something immediately appealing about The Blanks'/ True, "kiss you on the mouth" might be a little messy, but it works"-- By MEGAN FRYE The State News "On the surface, this band is the stuff "Beatle-mania" was made of" "The Blanks could easily get lost in the current shuffle of garage rock bands drowning Detroit and elsewhere, which would be a shame since I think their music has much more to offer than a mere cursory classification."- WHITNEY SPOTTS Lansing City Pulse "The first up was The Blanks. I was impressed with both the look and the sound of this band."--In the October 9, 2002 issue of the City Pulse, Lady Veliquette's Rendezvous II "Like all post-modern rock zealots, the Blanks seek the music's Holy Grail: its spontaneous, rude energy - and if they're not much interested in guitar virtuosity or tuneful singing, so much the better."-- Chris Rietz Lansing State Journal "its like rock and roll, but it sounds raw and fun"- Red Littleston "Okay, I see they have one bass-pedal"-some metal fan named Luther
