Rodney Newman and Garrett Deloian have been playing, writing and producing music together for more than a decade. Their collaboration blends two individual styles, with diverse backgrounds and unique obsessions with very different genres of music; from west coast blues to West African polyrhythm, psychedelic rock to gypsy jazz. Their mix is magic… resulting in soulfully complex music with pure harmonies, outstanding guitar work, distinctive arrangements and mindful lyrics. After several years writing and recording together, while on opposite sides of the world, Rodney and Garrett both found themselves back in California in 2007. This fresh proximity has allowed them a long awaited opportunity to record and release a new record. With a dedicated fan-base waiting in the wings the upcoming release and tour will undoubtedly make the current California music pot boil and sputter. The pair will be teaming up with new players in late 2009 to promote their new record and satiate audiences with the new and genuine sounds. They have performed throughout the country, in various assemblages at countless venues frequenting favorites like The Great American Music Hall and Slims in San Francisco and The Fox Theatre in Boulder. They have taken the stage at clubs, bars and venues up and down the west coast, throughout the midwest and around the northwest. They have teamed up with artists like The Mother Hips, The Greyboy Allstars and Jackpot. And, when parallels can be drawn, they have been compared to Death Cab for Cutie, Elliott Smith, The Beatles, Iron and Wine, Ween and Tim Bluhm.
