"The Makings of a Monster" takes you on an epic ride through the life of Mal V Moo and her experiences in love, heartbreak, and recovery. Mal starts off the album with her single "Bait", which explains the experience of being lured by a potential mate and CAUGHT! From that moment on Mal experienced moments of pure "Bliss" in love and was fled with a sense of completeness and security. Later Mal explains that she has suspicions in her new relationship in "Missed Calls" to which her suspicions are later confirmed. After feeling "Never Good Enough", the remaining pieces of Mal's heart grew bitter and cold. In fact, Mal began to change into what she refers to as The Black Phoenix. Mal's hurt quickly changed into anger in which she releases in "No Help, No Mercy" and "Rage". In the end, through the many circumstances that brought her down, Mal became stronger and better than ever in which she explains in "Still I Rise". In fact, Mal became so strong that created this entire album to share with YOU. For anyone who feels lured and then defeated by love at some point, angered, or changed, RISE UP! For you are not alone…
