Richard Porteous crosses the area between country and adult contemporary with an occasional leaning to jazz.

As a writer, Richard has won numerous national awards for many of his songs including APRA Song of the Year (Country) and a Golden Guitar. Three of his songs of topped the country charts (2 in Australia, and 1 in Europe). His songs have been covered by the likes of Kasey Chambers, Catherine Britt, Karen Lynne, Laurel Edwards, The Sherrahs, and many others.
