KOFO THE WONDERMAN (Master Drummer, Composer, Lead Singer and Bandleader) blends traditional African singing and drumming with Afro-funk flavour. The Wonderman’s infectious beat, led by the  voice of  the talking drum, as well as his own vocals, has been igniting dance  floors  and inspiring audiences in the New York club scene since he formed his  band; ‘The Daylight Stars’. Kofo’s stage name ‘The Wonderman’ reflects his  creative skill and ability to master the ‘Talking Drum’. The ‘Talking Drum’ is  the only percussion instrument that can speak words as accurately as the human  tongue. Hailing from a family of traditional Nigerian singers and drummers, Kofo inherited a priceless gift. For his very first performance, at the age of  four,  he was told to ‘pick up a drum and follow.’ The rest is  history. ‘The Wonderman’ formed the ethnically diverse Daylight  Stars in 1999 to  create a spicy medley of world and popular music. His reputation and sound  established a funky groove with trap drums and bass, introducing jazz riffs with  the sax and rock licks with the guitar. The group includes keyboard, backup  vocalists, dancers, percussion, conga, and the ‘Talking Drum’. He teaches ‘Talking  Drum’ and African Dance at the World  Rhythm Center in New York,  as well as New York Schools.  This  internationally renowned artist is among the most elite in the business.
