专辑简介

Chenjerai was born in Manica province of central Mozambique, during a time when the country was troubled by civil war, which forced his parents to move to neighboring Zimbabwe. His relationship with music began very early, under the influence of his father and older brother who played mbira.

At the age of seven, he joined a percussion band at primary school and played cymbals for two years. Ten years later, he wrote and composed his first song titled ''Ndiwe WEGA", which he has the pleasure to share with you on this debut album. He grew up listening to Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Lira and ZamaJobe, who have, either directly or indirectly, inspired his own compositions.
