Prince Young is a Canadian R&B artist who was born in Toronto’s Rexdale area. He grew up as a kid listening to R&B artists like Usher Raymond, Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson. He got most of his influences and ideas of the genre from the style and voices of these artists. He describes Usher Raymond's IV single "You Make Me Wanna" on his second album "My Way" and others like "Nice and slow" an asset which makes him want to make timeless music as well. Prince Young is a hard working artist striving to get his own product on the market. He's an intelligent business man motivated to do what he does best which is singing and entertaining. Prince Young released his first single titled "MY BABY" on February 14, 2011 (Valentine’s Day) on YouTube. The music got over 8000 Hit's + Downloads which is great for an up and coming local artist. Stimulating great reviews, the single started to hit College and University air waves which gave him added exposure. Prince Young submitted his single on a major radio station 93.7FM WBLK in Buffalo, NY which began airing "MY BABY" on a Friday night Top 10 unsigned-hype radio show. His single debuted at #6 and weeks later climbed up the charts at #2 and in no time it remained at #1 for three weeks straight. He describes his music as hearing a story in a song. He not only seeks the support of his fans, but constantly makes an effort to connect with them through his music. When he's not in the studio, Prince Young loves to work out in a gym, play video games and go online to his social networks to communicate with fans. He recognizes the influence of his loved ones in his musical quest and praises his family for supporting his career. Through his music, Prince Young encourages young people to stay positive, remain drug free and live a good life. The rising R&B artist has met stars such as: British R&B singer Estelle, Canadian East Coast Rapper Classified, Atlanta’s own Rapper Gorilla Zoe, Jadakiss, R&B singer Bobby Valentino, Travis McCoy, and the American rap rock group Gym Class Heroes. Young has also met Toronto's very own rapper Drake.
