FAMI Records - Started by accident in 2006 as a way to release one, or two take freestyle jam sessions from our parties, which included independent hip-hop/rock/abstract music from Michigan; began to evolve into something more serious over time. Luckily, FAMI Records persevered through that horribly cold winter of 2006 and grew to include dancehall, reggae, singer/songwriter and dance music, as well as recording wonderful, yet little known artists around the world. However, the message was of one common theme; to make positive, well crafted, independent music, regardless of genre. Whether being based in Detroit, NY, Jamaica, LA, or SF, running an independent label has not been an easy task, but at a decade strong, many miles, studios, laughs, shows and still "surviving" the label has finally developed into a home for artists that are passionate about their lyrics, music and mission as an artist. This album celebrates our 10 years of making music and releasing tunes. We couldn't fit everything on one album, but we chose the tunes that spoke to us over the years.
