简介
DARRYL RILEY The Voice of R&B Silk R’n’B singer Darryl Riley has been winning over the hearts of many with his melody filled voice since he was in grade school. With over a decade long track record of musical successes, Darryl has already solidified his place in the Canadian Music industry as a well-respected veteran, and is well on his way to his next frontier...expanding on the Darryl Riley brand. Darryl Riley is a native of Toronto, a city who has high musical standards and boasts some of the greatest world talents. From the tender age of nine when he serenaded the girlfriends of his older brother with personal interpretations of “One Last Cry” by Brian McKnight or up-tempo classics like “I Wanna Sex You Up” by Color Me Badd, it was clear that Darryl had found his life’s calling. His first song, “Freedom” which he wrote and produced at just 16 years old, was nominated for a UMAC (Urban Music Association of Canada) Award, in the same category as seasoned R’n’B artists Glenn Lewis and Tamia. By the age of 18, he was already collaborating with internationally accomplished artists such as: Red Café, Hip-Hop artist Grafh, Bobby Valentino, Masspike Miles, and Konvict Muzik hip-hop artist Kardinal Offishall. Darryl attended Cardinal Carter, one of Toronto’s most prestigious high schools for arts and music. Knowing that music was his calling, he sought out the best in vocal training, having been coached by Elaine Overholt, vocal trainer to Richard Gere and Queen Latifah for the musical film, Chicago. Darryl also ventured into film himself, working with 50 Cent in the Toronto-filmed segments of “Get Rich or Die Trying” as well as an extra in the ESPN Playmakers TV Show starring Omar Gooding. Darryl has an extensive musically resume that continues to grow and develop. With such songs as “Tear It Up” with Beenie Man and Fito Blanko, “Boom Boom Boom” with Kardinal Offishall, and recent projects with artists such as Styles P, Sheek Louch, Gunplay from MMG, JD Era & Rawkwon, Checkmate & Consise, Choclair and Bishop Brigante, Darryl Riley is paving his own path to world domination. He launched his own entertainment company in 2009 called New Nu Entertainment which focuses on Toronto based artists. To compliment that, he released his first label mixtape entitled “New Nu Everything Vol 1” which featured such artists as Luu Breeze, Kardinal Official and Rochester under popular mixtape DJ, DJ Gutta in January 2012 which took off and received rave reviews. He is currently working with his label artists to release their independent singles for the fall of 2012. If that wasn’t enough under his belt, Darryl Riley has returned to his old ways and has been cooking up a storm on the production end of the music business in his own studio, already having beat placements with artists such as Styles P, Sheek Louch, Graf, Lotus, and former Black Jays member Ro Dolla to name a few. He is in the process of developing this aspect of his brand and will be launching his Production Company, Hook Masterz whose affiliates include LG Toronto Productions and Gameby Beats in late 2012. With 2012 already looking to be a BIG year, Darryl Riley, has still managed to find time to make the music that he is so well known for. Scheduled for release this year, are several independent singles coming out under his own label and heading to itunes, including “BBM Me UP”, “Do the Right Thing” and “Found a Winner” ft. Kardinal Official. He has just completed a handful of solo video projects and is set to work with Choclair & Bishop Brigante on an upcoming video project for their single. He is more than just a musician; he is a performer, producer, engineer, beatmaker, song writer, actor and businessman. Something like a phenomenon, Darryl Riley is ready to make heads turn and really make it New Nu Everything.
