This is the debut record of the Fagéus Trio, where the three distinguished musicians play works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Werner Wolf Glaser. Combining the clarinet, bassoon, and piano into a permanent ensemble may seem both surprising and challenging. The repertoire for this kind of trio is undeniably limited, but the characteristics of the three highly individual instruments offer to composer, musician, and listener many rather unusual types of sound and musical atmospheres.
