简介
Pacific Coast Highway is an authentic look into Los Angeles Hip Hop. The production ranges from jazz inspired live instrumentation and original compositions to intense Hip Hop arrangements. 01 lyrics take you with him as he addresses society and politics in some rhymes and is purely unchained in others. "I wasn’t thinking about creating the next "hot" thing for the season while writing. With each song I truthfully communicated a vibe intended at innovating and expanding the scope of Hip Hop. It’s a religion to me. When I wrote Planet US, I imagined a better reality than I was experiencing vs echoing the typical adversarial vibe on relationships common in music. On Black, Brown, Divine and The Comet I just unchained my pen. Both of those were produced by Bradd Spitt. Spitt tracks have a way of making me comfortable with making people uncomfortable. Those songs might offend the sensitive. The title track was inspired by a composition on Kev Choice's Daily Dosage series, which breathed new life into the well-known French song Je Suis Venu te Dire by Serge Gainsbourg. When I heard that instrumental, I knew I had to include it.” From sociopolitical commentary to the South Central LA energy and dialect, PCH displays 01's range and paints a rarely seen picture of LA rap. The production of Kev Choice, Leggo, Slep Rock and Bradd Spitt plus the words of 01, take listeners for a cruise on Pacific Coast Highway, a journey through the mind of a Southern California rap artist.
