We challenged the great Bugz In The Attic to a ‘troubled times’ remix and the result is amazing. They have come with one of their best and most challenging works to date. Like the opening voice demands… I want you to listen now! When THE respected People RECORD label released SK Radicals debut album the feedback was tremendous. Tracks like ‘Reachin for the farside’ got heavy radio and club plays crossing borders to a wider audience. But like any MYSTERIOUS tale the band sub-merged FOR no particular reason. However, SK Radicals mentor (Sean Khan) never stopped composing music. The result of Sean Khan’s last 2 years work has NOW gained solid shape and he has produced the SK Radicals 2nd album ‘Urban eclectics’. This album definitely tops the first one. Not only because you’ll find a highly talented group of musicians (Derek Mcyntyre: Jamiroquai; Roy Ayers) Benet McLean(Courtney Pine) involved but mainly because the collection of songs written by Khan Aare one of the best heard in ages. ‘Troubled times’ is the first single… and what a single! Brilliantly live playing and lyrically contemporary, this track reinforces then talent Khan showed before and proves once again we can only be confident about the future of black music. THE B side is an awesome sound odyssey courtesy of the great Bugz In The Attic. They re-worked ‘troubled times’ into one of the most challenging remixes of the last 10 years. An expansion of time and space as if Sun Ra has landed in their studio to collaborate. ‘We know that’… talent is no vague word here!
