Deuce
简介
Circles & Stones’ fourth release is a crossover of two worlds, two artists and two very distinct sounds. Each artist contributed one original track, and each artist remixed the other’s own production to fuse together their styles in the aptly-named EP “Deuce”. On the one side we have Amount, the solo project of URSL’s co-founder Nayan Soukie: Staying true to his clear-cut ravey sound that’s instantly recognizeable on the dance floor, he delivers a classic original in “Görli (Original Mix)”, complete with synth lines tip-toeing on the border between sweet melancholy and 90’s tranciness while being driven along steadily by a punchy beat and a progressively slow build up. On the other side, Zurich-based Oilst & Baerg’s original track “Sophia (Original Mix)” showcases his utterly groovy and wonderfully colourful signature sound that is unique in the downtempo scene. A delicious array of analog blips and synth explorations combined with feather-light melodies and bouncy, sub-bass swells is enough to get any listener head-bopping in their seat, walking with a jig in their step or bouncing on the dance floor. Imagine then the joy of hearing these different styles fusing together in the two remixes. Imagine how Oilst has saturated his remix of “Görli” with his distinct multi-textured rhythm and gentle melancholy, while Amount’s remix of “Sophia” is unmistakably injected with his more technoid style in the synth escalation at the centre of the track. But oh wait, you don’t have to imagine it. Listen and enjoy the crossing over of two worlds in Circles & Stones’ CS004: “Amount x Oilst - Deuce”.
