简介
Nothing Stays Buried… Inspired by the Sunday hardcore matinees of New York’s legendary club CBGB’s, The band’s first proper demo “Burning Within” was produced by Josh Silver of Type O Negative selling over 3,000 copies. Demo sales as well as subsequent recordings earned the still very young band gigs in NYC’s Limelight, Wetlands, CBGB’s, and Coney Island High. Enrage became fortunate enough to play with a wide variety of bands such as: Agnostic Front, Bad Brains, Biohazard, Carnivore, Cro-Mags, The Dickies, Dog Eat Dog, Earth Crisis, E Town Concrete, Full Blown Chaos, Gwar, Hatebreed, Kreator, Leeway, Life of Agony, Lords of Brooklyn, Michael Graves of The Misfits, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Murphy’s Law, Morbid Angel, Overkill, Prong, Sick 0f It All, Testament, Thy Will Be Done and Type O Negative Local news started featuring Enrage for running charity shows for AIDS awareness and cancer research. WABC News also focused on Enrage logos in a segment featuring graffiti in NYC suburbs. Other unexpected exposure came to the band when the band’s T-shirt was worn by one of MTV’s ‘Headbangers Ball’ co-hosts. The cd “Empty” was produced by Noah Evans, who had previously worked with the Beastie Boys, Lucious Jackson, Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, Fear, and Sick of it all. ‘Empty’ was distributed to over one hundred major college markets. Empty was played on WSOU’s heavy rotation (average 114000 listening base) and repeatedly hit the stations top ten countdown as well as the year end list. Enrage was on WSIA’s top thirty five artists list, reaching number one on album cuts and audience response for ten weeks. Enrage reached Hits magazine ten most added in the ‘metal/punk/hardcore’ section as well as CMJ’s ‘Loud Rock’ top 75. Literally, millions of listeners heard Howard Stern play a cut from the cd , read the lyrics and give Enrage a positive review over the airwaves. The radio push was done without gimmick or promotion. With mostly show sales, mailorder and independent distribution, over ten thousand forms of various merchandise has been sold. Enrage was fortunate enough to fullfill our small DIY goals. Opening for the Bad Brains, being on a CD with Motorhead, opening for the bands we looked up to, play all the marquee places, travel, headline our home town and most importantly meet so many people and make new friends After a holiday show in honour of a fallen friend we felt the time was right to end on a high note. We were literally kids when we formed Enrage and after we disbanded we got feedback from people over the years who told us how the lyrics affected their lives, helped them get through some turbulent times…. we started getting requests to reunite as far as Korea, Turkey, France, Belgium, it was humbling to say the least. We missed playing and to our suprise, people were still interested in Enrage. Love and loss is a powerful burning fire and Hell, we need to release our own demons – so we are doing Enrage because time heals nothing and nothing stays buried….
