简介
This demo was recorded in 2003 weeks before Vince died. He wrote two songs and was supposed to have sung the two he wrote, "Chunka Rainbow" and "Game of Fame." Scott and Raymond disagree as to the words for one line of "Chunka Rainbow" but Vince's lyric book was never found after his death and what you hear is Scott's best attempt at singing Vinny's songs the way he wanted them sung. Vince was the type of musician that definately wanted his material played his way. The only picture this line up of 3-D is the one you see distributed with the music. The picture was taken in 1999 when Vince wanted to call the band Three Times Bad after one of Scott's former bands. The band secured an opening slot on the Fourth Annual Monterey Rock & Art Festival in 2000 as Three Times Bad but Scott and Vince both didn't show up for the gig. Raymond got to play the festival with his other band Turn in a different slot later that day. Time went by and then Raymond, Vince, and Scott got together again and named the band Three Dudes. That was Vince's suggestion. Raymond usually referred to Three Dudes as 3-D for short. Raymond and Scott were looking for a better name but hadn't come up with one. After Vince died, Raymond and Scott played with a few other people and settled on a friend of Scott and Vince's named Dennis. It was then that the Three Dudes/3-D project changed it's name to Dennis' suggestion 3-Dead in tribute to three people which had died about that time, including Vince. After Vince' death, Lyndon Scott of Turn mixed the recordings. Raymond burned some CDs. In 2012, Raymond found the tracks and asked Andre Tonelli to remix them. Andre mixed and mastered the tracks. They had been recorded live except for the vocals and guitar solos. So what you hear on bass are Vince's last recordings of songs that he and Scott wrote in the 80's. What you hear for drums is Raymond's playing before he took any lessons. The bass guitar was recorded with Roy Kurano's bass amplifier and cabinent. Thanks to Roy and Lyndon for helping then. Thanks to Andre for helping now. Thank you for listening. We hope you enjoy what to Raymond and Scott (and now also Dennis) is an ongoing to tribute to our friend Vince and our shared love for music.
