简介
Fuist! Traditional & New Music for the Irish & Scottish Pipes Fuist [fwisht], means "hush" or "pipe down" in Irish & Scottish Gaelic, evoking poignant pipes and cheeky objections. This album features Irish slip jigs, Swedish waltzes, and sultry Scottish minuets, performed on the Uilleann Pipes, Scottish Smallpipes, and Irish Whistles. It also features Daryne Rockett on Harp and Jim Gray on guitar and cajon This album reflects my own unique journey through traditional music, and those eclectic influences, instruments and sounds that inspired and propelled me along this path. Fuist also features four tracks that are the outcome of several difficult months spent grappling with debilitating tendonitis. Unable to play the pipes, I turned to electronic dance music, exploring an untapped fascination with its textures and deeply rhythmic melodies. As my hands healed, these tracks transformed into a synthesis of traditional & electronic dance music, a merging and reconciliation of those two poles of my musical identity.
