简介

Yes another joint! For his forthcoming release Baseheadz collaborated with one of the most highly respected hiphop producers at this moment Kev Brown. Baseheadz is based around the bass player/composer/producer satiesh mathoera who adds new flavor to music styles such as Hip hop, Broken beats, Drum n Bass, Nujazz with the help of his bass guitar. Soul, Funk, Rock, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Turntablism have influenced ties for a great deal throughout his musical career. Hailing from Landover, MD, Kev Brown has ascended the ranks of the underground to solidify himself as one of hip-hop’s most prolific and universally respected modern producers. As the beat-maker for artists from De La Soul to Jewel—and the mastermind behind ground-breaking projects such as the Jay-Z remix “Brown Album” and Kenn Starr’s latest album “Star Status” on which he produced some tracks. Reviews/Quotes: Canada: Textura: "...The four variations are unified by the song's chorus (“It don't stop / You won't block the goals / We got a lot of those / Ever since back then / We rockin' the souls / That's the way it's goin' to have to be / ‘Til the curtain's closed”) while the rhymes themselves are delivered by Brown in an agile yet languorous, backbeat-heavy style. The opening ‘Radio Edit' version dresses the song in a horn-kissed, hiphop-soul-funk vibe while the ‘It's Real Hiphop' mix is delectably slower and crowned by beautiful scratches and cuts by DJ Dunic. Mathoera spotlights his bass chops on the jazz-funk-flavoured ‘Funky Chicken' mix (he cites Level 42's Mark King, Stanley Clarke, Les Claypool, and Jaco Pastorius as bass inspirations) before exiting the disc with a synth-heavy, electro-shuffle ‘Dirty Dirt' mix. What would be better? How about a whole album of equally strong material.." UK: UKHH.COM: "The latest offering from Ties production project, the Baseheadz, is an absolute stormer in the form of the plainly named “Hiphop”. Teaming up with the highly rated Kev Brown, the production will have you floating away on its jazzy trumpet sample and mellow bass. The emceeing is nice and mellow too, blending perfectly over the top of the soundscape like Clingfilm. You also get 3 other mixes on this single, but to be frank like Butcher, none of them come close to the original. One of those tracks to throw on after a shitty day at work, or even as something more acceptable to play when the lady’s around. Don’t let that mislead you though; this is indeed proper “Hiphop” with all the trimmings." USA: Groundlift Magazine: " i've been playing this ever since, in and out of the house. keep 'em coming! " USA: Erasoul: " One of the hottest producers around collaborates with Bassheadz (solo project of Satiesh Mathera) for a keyed out, new soul track. For fans of hip-hop, soul, jazz and downtempo. How a 12" single should be. It includes a radio edit, an extended version, instrumentals and 3 remixes." USA: Tableek (Maspyke): " yeah. sounds cool..." Germany: DJ m.path.iq: "quick props to the mental crew. for hiphop and all i have heard before... soul on. " Belgium: DJ Lefto (stubru de Hop): "the one i like the most is the funky one!"
