简介
After spending a few years living in Washington DC and fronting rock band, Soul Kitchen Collective, Laura Promiscuo relocated to Philadelphia and began recording all new original material to be released in 2014, including a music video for her single "Closer To You" with producer Simon Rogers, and her debut solo album entitled Chasing Down The Dream with producer Brian Fitzy. Her popularity in local Philadelphia nightblubs is growing, as she has performed at several famous venues including The World Cafe Live, the Bryce Jordan Center, the Wilma Theater, and the Grape Room in the last few years. Miss Promiscuo is a classically trained vocalist in opera, jazz, and world music and is currently advised by Maestro Antonio Conte Pugliese. During her education, she studied under world renowned singers and Broadway performers, including double Grammy winner, Dr. Christopher Kiver, internationally known tenor, Richard Kennedy, and Arlene Shrut, head vocal coach at The Julliard School. In addition to live performances, her voice is featured on several studio albums and a self-produced album of holiday songs entitled A Vintage Christmas, released in 2011. A major influence on her musical style is over ten years of a disciplined yoga practice, accompanied by a deep fascination with theological and philosophical thought. When she was 17, she earned her certification in teaching yoga and has lead several Kirtan ensembles, for her enjoyment of spiritual singing. There are undoubtedly elements of classical and world music influences in several of her tunes, including "Stranger," "Unless We Dance" and "Back Again."
