'How Firm a Foundation' is a classic hymn that had been mentioned more and more around me. When I was asked to perform in my church, one day, I knew I wanted to do a version of that song. One of my good friends, Emily Greco, was a piano performance major in college and I wanted to include her. I went to work trying to find an interesting piano rendition and came across that of Michael Ethington. It was a beautiful piece that had elements of an "epic" soundtrack that I loved. I, then, grabbed my hymn book and arranged the words to fit his motifs. I didn't want to step on the piano's classic melody so I also added my own melody, hoping to enhance it. Emily and I love performing this hymn together not only because of it's beauty but it is a chance to express, in our own ways, the love we have for the Word of the Lord.
