First and foremost a songwriting duo, The Brehms originally made their debut as an instrumental jazz group formerly known as The B Side Trio. “The group booked a wedding gig that required a vocalist, and that’s when Stephanie entered the picture as the lead singer,” states David Brehm, “Stephanie was excited to audition for the group, and little did she know that landing the wedding gig would alter the course of her life.” David and Stephanie’s happily ever after was set into motion as the couple began collaborating, and one of their first songs, Red Dress, even garnered recognition as a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition. To put it mildly, they fell in love not just with each other, but with the passion they shared as musicians. But they’re not just about performing, The Brehms recognize that they’ve been given an inimitable platform and they use it to give back to the community whenever they get the chance. “Music is a powerful, healing, life affirming force that has the ability to inspire hope and action; it has brought such joy to our life, so in turn, we are always eager to give back to important causes in our community through music, through performing at a fundraiser, donating CDs, or rolling up our sleeves and getting involved.” You may have seen them in action while supporting Alley’s House, Gilda’s Club or The Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation. Their audience is widely diverse and fans consistently offer positive feedback, even stating that “they take [their] music on romantic road trips, so they can listen to it on repeat.” Yes, their success is, without question, a dream, but nothing seems to compare to their two greatest achievements at home – their children. And perhaps that’s exactly who inspires them in the studio as well. “We’ve been working hard in the studio, crafting a fresh sound with a more modern approach than our previous work, and it’s definitely some of the best music we’ve written.
