Chaula also has a selection of recordings related to the musical experience at Kripalu Center which are available by special request at her web site www.chaula.com. Multi-Colored Chant is a collection of original and traditional prayers and chants from several spiritual traditions, arranged in a variety of folkloric, pop, and jazz styles. Featuring singing in English, Hebrew, Latin, and Sanskrit with African drumming, reggae, folk, trance dance, Jazz, Indian, New Age, with lush vocal arrangements, varied instrumentation and great soloists. Multi-Colored Chant has something for everybody. Tracks #7, and #9 are great dance tracks. Tracks #6 and #10 are used by Yoga teachers everywhere. Track #5 is a haunting invocation of the spirit of Hildegarde Von Bingen and #4 is perfect for a Pagan ritual at May Day or Candlemass. Music of the Open Sky, track #1 is an original tune reminiscent of the reknowned Peggy Lee Harp sessions of the 1960s and featured Viennese concert harpist Monika Stadler. Erik Lawrence (Spin Doctors, Blues Traveller) plays awesome soprano sax obligados on #2 Shiva Hari Om. Not wishy-washy in any sense of the word, Multi-Colored Chant is great music to work or dance or do yoga to. It is a healing balm for the over-stimulated. May it bring you joy and peace.
