Although Infinite Gravity may seem like a radical departure from Alan Shoesmith's previous work, Greenwood Fountain, he has actually been exploring the world of electronics and sound manipulation since the late 1970's. This album represents the culmination of many years of research and exploration into the world of sound painting and non-traditional music composition. Most of these pieces fall into the realm of musique concrete, which means they can only exist in the recorded world. Also, some of the tools & approach to capturing and manipulating these sound ideas were not available until very recently. Infinite Gravity is a cutting edge exploration of musical and sound textures that developed over a period of 8 years in Alan Shoesmith's home studio.
