There may be some of you who have not heard of Madison Ray. For those of you not familiar with him, Madison is a young, soulful singer and songwriter homegrown in America’s heartland. His musical style draws inspiration from all of his life’s experiences from performing in festivals in Orange County, California to singing and dancing abroad in Tokyo, Japan. He believes that honesty is the best policy, especially in the arena of music, and in a fast-paced and modern world, he manages to assert his individuality while drawing upon the universality of the human condition. Enter: All the Single Ladies. In the summer of 2011, Madison teamed up with his friends and fellow composers Chris Powell and Grey Lovelace for the “Highly Caffeinated” Tour, in which they performed as an acoustic trio in coffee shops all over the Des Moines, IA area. The buzz generated by this tour inspired them to set their bar even higher, and they began searching for like-minded musicians to round out the band, resulting in the addition of bass player extraordinaire Brenden Pugh, and Simpson College’s “Greek God,” drummer Kirk Ford. They are the originators of Stanque Pop, pop music with heavy jazz, blues, funk and rock influences.
