Although from Brazil, Severino writes most of his rock songs in English and blends influences from blues, funk, prog and popular Brazilian music (MPB). Lyrics are carefully written and somewhat tricky harmonies give support to sweet melodies. His first album, Before We Shrink, has 11 tracks and was released in April, 2017. Severino was the front man of his former band Foxes and Rabbits from 2013 to 2016. The artist signs all tracks, two of them in partnership with old Foxes colleagues, though this solo work sounds softer. Most electric guitars have only subtle distortion and divide arrangements with keyboards, accordion, acoustic guitars and even a “cuica”.
