简介
This album is a combination of songs written over the past 3 years except for "Huh Yeah" which is 5 years old but replayed now by guitarist Geoff Wright with a vim and vigor that has it sparkling like a newly cut and polished gem. "Huh Yeah" is one of those songs that could easily be passed off as the stuff of nonsense. With a carefree lyric announcing the arrival of a new sense of perspective in my life of fun and vitality. A shrugging off of the never ending seriousness of life and it's many trials and tribulations. "I go Within" is also a comment on a new way of looking at life. We, as a society, are constantly bombarded with information shaping us into meaning making machines. We scurry here and there like worker ants diligently setting about making things right. Hunting and gathering, procuring items of comfort and security. All the while striving for that "next item". The final piece in the puzzle that will make us happy and content. Only to find we need more pieces until finally we go within for happiness and contentment. "Enslaved to you" speaks of lovers separated by distance and clear communication. And an obstinate mindset from both parties that ultimately leads to the destruction of the romance. On a physical level but not necessarily on an energetic level. "This Life's For Love" is probably my favorite song on the album. It just has so many levels of love entwined within it's melody and lyrics. Love is so indescribable it has so many seen and unseen facets. By that I mean love is in "the doing" and in the "doing nothing". Just being" there for someone unconditionally can be one of the greatest gifts to another human. My other favorite song but also my least favorite is "Teacher Teacher". I've been waiting forty years to send that message out into the world. I hope it strikes a chord.
