简介

This sophomore release, "Swing in Evolution," features twelve new songs and a few extra tracks that truly shows the band's evolution from their early days. Crowd favorites include: "Quarter to 3," "My Song," "Dance, Dance, Dance," and of course "The Cougar Hunter." The song that's surprised the band as a listener favorite was "Love Letters," written by Phil Clevinger. The band has yet to perform this live, as it was only intended for the album. But with the popular demand to hear it, it may work it's way into the band's playlist. The title, "Swing In Evolution" was created when the band realized that their sound keeps evolving with each year that passes. Even what you hear at a live show is slightly evolved from the album. The band pulls in influences from all their favorite styles of music: Hip Hop, Reggae, Big Band, Rock, Funk, and so much more. This is only the beginning in the evolution of Phat Cat Swinger. In the meantime, the band will continue to create and push boundaries from stage to stage and album to album. Phat Cat Swinger still continues to be one of the best bands to dance to in the surrounding Los Angeles areas. Phat Cat Swinger is influenced by the classic sounds of Bobby Darin, Louis Prima, and Frank Sinatra and mixed with the new swingin’ sounds of such bands as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Royal Crown Revue, and Brian Setzer. Born of the idea to bring fun, laughter, great music and entertain audiences with a collective showmanship between 9 band members, Phat Cat Swinger has grown to be one of the hottest live swing bands to hit Southern California’s underground scene. With their rise in popularity Phat Cat Swinger has toured the country and performed shows with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Royal Crown Revue and even alongside The Coasters. A big break for the band came when they made an appearance in Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” music video, where they performed in the beginning scene of the song dressed up to the nines in white suits; they have also appeared as band members for the Jonas Brothers in their music video "Love Bug" and more recently played for the Stars And Stripes Benefit at the venue of every man’s dream, the Playboy Mansion. Phat Cat Swinger's first album (self titled) was released in July 2005 and held such fanatical songs such as “Hep Cats”, “Money Tree” and the crowd’s favorite sing along song “Smolie Olie Olie”. Most of the bands original songs were composed by Marco Palos with the rest of the band pitching in until they reached melodies that take you from toe tapping jazz to a smooth sultry tango. Enjoy the new sounds of Phat Cat Swinger on this second release . Until the next album, go on out and catch a show. You won't regret it.
