简介
The Debut Album, "How Deep is the Ocean," marks a definitive era of music. Introducing, Carolyn Dolan vocalist and harmonica player, Peter Supersano pianist and arranger, together with the talented guest musicians, have re-created an anthology of music from the past sixty years. Beginning with the album's first cut and the most recent composition, "What If I Love You (2000), to Gershwin's, "I Was doing All Right" (1937), captures the sound of the Big Band Swing era - while the Jump Blues period of the 1940's marks Louie Jordan's, "Blue Light Boogie." The album crosses over into classic R & B of the 1960's with a Joe Tex tune, "You Got what it Takes" re-created with a New Orleans feel. We also included a classic '60's Bossa Nova, "So Nice" and a mambo influenced, "Everybody's Talking." Moving into the 1970's, we followed in the footsteps of Stevie Wonder's "Summer Soft and Another Star," Michael Franks, "Eggplant," and a funk - jazz version of Bob Marley's, "Waiting in Vain." The album is balanced out by three sultry Jazz ballads, "But Beautiful" (1947), "Peace" (1959) and the earliest song and title track, "How Deep is the Ocean" written by Irving Berlin in 1932. Carolyn Dolan and Peter Supersano have been performing together for over a decade. Together with Carolyn's soulful vocals and bluesy harmonica, and Peter's accomplished musicianship as a pianist, their methodical arrangements are a kind of storytelling... Retelling, "How Deep Is the Ocean" is a reflection of the past through its present interpretation. It is the first chapter of thirteen hand-picked songs that capture a moment in time, with a great appreciation for the artist who created them. Enjoy!
