简介

Moving from strength to strength; New York's Undulate Recordings has graced us with underground gems from the likes of Terry Lee Brown Jr, Pawas, LoSoul, Audio Soul Project and Manhattan Projject in their meager three debut EPs. With an already impressive roster filled with legends and new talent alike; one can only imagine what this born and bred New York imprint has up their sleeves for the future. Release #004 comes from an artist who's been engulfed in the trenches of New York's underground for many years; while quietly plugging away in the studio honing his skills to reach the level shown on his debut single for Undulate. With heavy style and a big smile; Frankie Pep comes correct, it's the New York code and he reps it well. Pep comes armed and ready to show the world his battle scars and creative ideas earned from those previously mentioned years spent in the studio; and in the trenches of NYC's notorious venues; such as Limelight, Tunnel, Twilo, and Filter 14. In "Hows it Feel?", Pep's rough and rugged nature is cleverly masked with a sense of soul and love which is a unique combination only capable of coming from a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. His own vocals provide a dark essence to the mix, pitched down and effected with expert precision. Pep's studio chops are immediately recognized by Dachshund, who respectively utilized many of the cut's original elements in his crafting of his gutter-dwelling, crowd arousing remix; which sets a destructive aim toward the dancefloor; and accomplishes this mission with ease. The moment of total dancefloor devastation occurs at the very moment in which the filthy, yet soul-touching groove emerges; upon the finale of the remix's elegantly soul-filled breakdown. His down and dirty; bass driven floor shaker is clear in it's mission to keeps that floor moving -- and that it does, Dachshund verified himself. The remix has been tried, road-tested and certified as a winner by the punters of London's legendary club Fabric. Enough Said. Support from: D'Julz, Catz & Dogz, Jay Tripwire, Danny Howells, David Durango, Glimpse, Arnaud Le Texier, Mihai Popoviciu, Sergio Santos, Nico Lahs, UGLH, James Johnston, Carsten Rausch, Dan Drastic, John Dimas, Dudley Strangeways and Tuccillo
