Like the languages we speak, the folk traditions of every culture bears witness of where it's people have been, where their ancestors came from, and how visiting and immigrating cultures fused with the indigenous. After travelling for many years I started longing for this fusion in my own heritage. I wanted to assimilate all that I had heard, seen and felt in to my culture, in to what I am. This is my first attempt at bringing those experiences and my heritage together in music as well as my first experience recording in the studio. The gratitude I feel for those who made it happen is endless. My Mother and Father, who continue to believe and invest in me and my vision so deeply and undoubtedly. My husband Adam, my love and teacher, who pulls my gaze up and shows me the horizon. The amazing musicians I worked with who shared their experience, music and passion so freely and elegantly.
