THC Bio

IBProfyn, Tekst, and J. Glaze grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and have been down since childhood. In high school they each found themselves with a strong passion for music and started recording hip-hop songs in J. Glaze's mom's apartment. We made the Manifest Destiny CD and we each took our experience and musical skills with us to college. At Syracuse University, IBProfyn met M. Dot and immediately started doing tracks together. M. Dot had been doing is own thing in Syracuse for quite some time with his own crew in high school P.I.S.S.C. and took the time to record two full albums on his computer. By the time Tekst and J. Glaze met M. Dot, it was a rap!! We knew we all had a lot to say and there wasn't going to be any nonsense; we weren't going to be doing the typical rap bullshit because we think there is a lot of things out there that people want to hear. We know the people want a break from the monotony above and below ground. We formed THE HIGHER CONCEPT and since then we've been committed to taking hip-hop to the next level. We bring originality, creativity, and most importantly "there's always a message involved."
