I've been wanting to record this album for over six years now but the time and my aging recording equipment has kept me from getting the project started. In the spring of 20I4 my new studio (plank road) got a complete overhaul, new computer, new converters, and preamp upgrades. I'm now able to use my equipment and be creative rather than wasting time maintaining it and constantly fixing hard drive and computer problems. My intentions have always been to re-visit some of my early content, I've always been very proud of this early material but let's be honest... I didn't have the gear or know-how back in my college days to get the type of results I can today. In my early recording ventures I feel like I sometimes over-produced many of the tunes, using to many sounds. You will notice most of this album is very basic, I used shakers, a cajon and mallet, acoustic instruments and a host of really nice condensor mics and vintage sounding ribbon mice to capture a very raw, acoustic sound.
