Karen Daniel is well-known for her original songs of Jewish holidays, prayers and lifestyle. She lives, works, writes songs and sings in Nashville, Tennessee. Her Teachable, Singable and Jewish series is known, taught and sung in many religious schools; her music travels as far as Germany and Australia. On her newest CD, "Short Stuff and other children's songs," she plays acoustic guitar as well as keyboards and percussion, and is joined by some very special friends--Michael Black on harmony and Nathan Daniel on brass! There are some new songs on this CD, and interpretations of traditional songs such as Frere Jacques and the Hushabye/Pretty Little Horsies lullabye. This album breaks from Karen Daniel's genre of "Jewish music" and is geared toward all children who need a boost of energy (Tilly Go Round, written for her granddaughter, an action song), some better self-esteem (Short Stuff, encouraging us to be happy at any size or age) or a helping hand (Carousel Ride).
