George Terry, the guitarist from the Clapton band in the 70's wrote this song for The Bellamy Brothers. Danny Jones came over and played a great pedal steel and then David Bellamy came over to the ranch and sang a great lead vocal. At the time Howard wasn't able to come over and sing as it was a three hour drive, so why the song sat unfinished George went and sang the lower harmony. The Bellamy's never committed to using the song so the song still sat in the studio with all this great musicianship all over it for 9 years, plus it was a great song. Our dear friend Danny Jones died and I just couldn't let this work sit without being finished. So I had George mix it and I worked for 1 month dreaming up ideas and a treatment that I felt would do the song justice. I did not want anything to go to waste that Danny had played on because he was such a beautiful person and I wanted to share this song and his talents with others. The words have great meaning and good folks are all apart. Time is passing us by so quickly. I did not want this work to sit in vain. So to you Danny Jones. I miss you and feel you near whenever I listen to this song. God Bless us all. If at all it should remind us all to keep busy making our music.
