The title of this CD comes from the last song: Song of Lazarus. It is based on the Biblical story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. But it reminds us that all of us may, at some time, be spiritually dead. There is hope, however, and that is good news. The collection of songs, 7Songs To God, are short contemporary songs that suggest the Latin mass, with thematic movements in each song and with some Latin in the lyrics. Still, they are accessible to the modern listener and Latin phrases are preceded or followed by their English translation. Other songs on the album are more art song or folk in style, though the lyrics and message are Christian.
