Frank's jazz sound was cultivated in Boston in the '70s where he studied with saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. Since 1989, North Carolina has become familiar with Frank's saxophone playing in his own jazz bands, as well as with the horn sections of various rhythm + blues and jazz big bands. Frank has played concerts and festivals throughout North Carolina, including the "Jazz Composers Forum" with the Take 'n Back Quartet. In 2000, he released the CD, "ANTHEM", with his quintet and also recorded a duo CD, "CHELSEA BRIDGE", with pianist Mark Freundt. Cadence Magazine writes about "ANTHEM"-----"the music..is for celebrating....It's fresh spirit brings a promise of things going right when we swing out and have fun." Frank's saxophone playing is warm and expressive. His inventive jazz compositions range from lyrical ballads to swinging, bluesy, be-bop.
