Jay's Xperience is an amalgamation of Hip Hop, Blues, and Gospel. Matter of fact, one review columnist wrote about his music as being "all of that and more." That same writer was referring to JXs' debut, however the same can be said for his overall game plan. To make like Pinky and the Brain and try to take over the world by taking all genres, or at least as many as he can and make them yield to his drug of choice. The Blues! As the columnist realized that because of the amount of complexity on the first album, things didn't "quite gel." However he went on to add that the album was still "a fascinating journey." Fast forward four years later, and Jays' second offering of what he likes to call Neo Blues takes all that same complexity and tries his darndest to turn it into cotton candy, boat rides, roller skating, and walks in the park.
