Featuring Skatalites drummer and living legend, Lloyd Knibb, - arguably the grandfather/inventor of reggae drumming. The bass line, played on steeldrums, was drawn from scat-vocal simulated ska bass ramblings by Lloyd Knibb (refer to track eight, Spanish Ska Dub, for a taste of the bass vocal tracks). Track four: And I Love Her, by Lennon/ McArtney. Steeldrums, percussion and drums by PanAshe Steelband. Recorded live on August 11, 2001. Double-tenor steeldrums by Camomilla, with Gabe Halberg, tabla drums; Lydia Mackey, oboe; Indigo Ruth-Davis, cello. Subtle dramas of loons and lake life reflected in this watery improvisational splash of colors. Track seven: Wild World, by Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens). Steeldrums, Camomilla; Drums, timbales Phil Carr; Nyabingi-Congito, Lloyd Knibb. Percussion-rich steelband arrangement of the Cat Stevens classic, with a road-march feel. Track eight: Spanish Ska Dub. by Camomilla, with Dub-Master, Bennett Shapiro. Drums and bass vocals by Lloyd Knibb. Background vocals, Rose Ciaparra, Phoebe Hanson, Camomilla. Lloyd Knibb, internationally acclaimed reggae and ska drummer, branches out into reggae dub vocals, sung in basso-profundo range. Originally intended as inspiration for the Spanish Ska bass line, these bass vocals just needed to break loose!
