With a 50 year history as a musician in his native Ireland as well as the US, Danny has been a bandleader/arranger, session singer at Abbey Road studios, touring musician with Graham Parker and The Foundations, had several publishing deals, and thought he had settled into a predictable life of a solo covers artist. With a rock/blues background, he had never written anything related to his Celtic background till a song came out while sitting at the keyboard late at night that stunned him. It brought him back to the 8 years he had spent growing up in an abusive orphanage in Ireland, and the young boy he had left behind. His award-winning "800 Voices" album was the catalyst for him to finally be able to write the personal, and heartfelt songs that he had always wanted to write for himself. With such an eclectic background he's able to move easily from Celtic to Folk to Rock and Blues. With fans like Bonnie Raitt, David Wilcox, and Mary Gauthier, he's been called a musician's "musician", and his lyrics and melodies are some of the best you'll ever hear.
