简介
What do a lifeguard, an actor, a tennis coach; a student and a party animal have in common? -- A passion to share their music with the world. Comprised of experts in each aspect of the music industry, Aberdeen is looking to use their skills to break their music into the mainstream. It is said that music will speak for itself; that success will come when the time is right. But even with their catchy, vocal-driven blend of power-pop, hard rock and art-rock, Aberdeen knows that these days a band needs more than a few good hooks to be successful. This group wants to be prepared when their time comes. That is why each member has pursued an aspect of the music industry in post-secondary education. Al Rowe, the groups lead vocalist and frontman, is a voice major at one of the most renowned contemporary music programs in North America, offered exclusively at Toronto's Humber College. Darren Butt, lead guitarist, who had already been turning heads for years, is entering his second year as a Music Business Management student at Durham College. Adam Dugas (rhythm guitar) and Jonathan Kudjerski (drums), are two of a very limited number of graduates from Seneca College's prestigious Independent Music Production Program. The two are well-versed in business, promotional and songwriting techniques of some of the industry’s top professionals. Rounding off the quintet is the bass playing of Political-Science specialist Daniel Judah, who is attend the University of Toronto, his sights set on law school. Aberdeen's training in musical and business skills supplements an exciting live show. The band stands by the idea that audience members came not only to listen, but to see Aberdeen in action. Much attention is paid to the details of a great visual performance and this group will not disappoint. Equally important to their live performance are three supporting vocalists in Adam Dugas, Darren Butt and Jonathan Kudjerski, allowing Aberdeen to effectively reproduce studio overdubs, something often found lacking at concerts. "Disasters", the band's debut full-length release is a collection of gripping, convicted stories of the birth, life and death of relationships. Through powerful lyric and influences from a wide range of musical genres, "Disasters" is able to capture a large spectrum of human emotion; often having two or more simultaneous, contradicting themes in a single song, conveying the many feelings of souls entwined. Aberdeen has already shared the stage with popular music giants The Trews, The Salads, Sarah Harmer, Sloan and Bruce Cockburn. Aberdeen has also been featured on The STROMBO SHOW with host George Stroumboulopoulos on 102.1 THE EDGE. The band is currently booking their upcoming 2008 College and University tour. With some great songs, some business skills, bag of stage tricks and four active vocalists, Aberdeen is ready to make a name for themselves in popular music. *For Booking inquiries contact us at aberdeenofficial@gmail.com Thanks!
