简介
Dubnosis is a solo project by legendary Australian DJ/producer Crucial D. Currently endorsed by Stanton Electronics and co-founder of Wicked Beat Sound System (nominated for three ARIA awards including 2003 Best Dance Release Award), we are honoured that Crucial D has chosen Latenite Lounging for his first solo release. A journey through Crucial D's musical heritage, the EP encompasses influences from dub, breaks and house music, all tied together with an unparelleled joyous enthusiasm and sense of fun. Instantly recognisable for his wobbly basslines and off-kilter drums, Dubnosis won't fail to hit the mark on the dancefloor this summer. 'Dub Africa' is easily the most versatile track on the EP, equally at home in a breaks, house or broken beat set. 'Girls' is definitely a dancehall booty-shaker which deftly blends the sweetest of vocals with the filthiest of basslines. As for 'Bashmental' itself, the title says it all- use this dancefloor weapon with caution! The first remix in the package comes from UK reggae producer Richie Phoe, recently described by Rob Da Bank (BBC Radio 1) as "Brighton's Lee Scratch Perry". Richie takes 'Dub Africa' in a deeper and more introspective direction, with dark atmospheric strings to create a mysterious and thought-provoking version. The final mix comes from Latenite Lounging's own Sumsuch, whose unique take on 'Bashmental' slows down the orignial, adding soulful live vocals, keys and guitar, perfect for summer lounging.
