With the third part of 2014 slowing spawning on the horizon, things are seeming to look hugely exciting for MFR’s House & UK Bass purveyor DJ Spookz, who is set to drop his EP; courtesy of MFR Records. DJ Spookz production abilities are undeniably crisp and slick, considerably more so than just a DJ/ music producer stepping up for the next instalment of his forthcoming EP release on MFR records. The leading track ‘British are ready’ sets the pace for what is about to be disclosed as DJ Spookz own take on an revolutionized sound of UK Bass with an intro in fine style before delving into deep agitated UK Funky region with monstrous rhythmic drum patterns reminiscing UK’s infamous “Funky” tribal percussion. Leading faultlessly into a ghostly sing-a-long, “Yes the British are ready” that is chopped and finely executed within the dance floor bubbler. Up next, ‘On You’ continues the EP with its hard-to-define explorations, which variously sheds a umbrella to UK Bass, UKG, UK funky and deep house. "On You” is an altogether more full-bodied proposition, with grimy great bassline and hybrid electronic synths wrapped around a hissing four to the floor groove. The most stripped back anthem, employs tight drum grooves and percussive siren effects in permutation with deep subs. The bass heavy dance floor jam adopts warm flowing chords and vocals, with a well-sequenced arrangement that keeps the tune authentically bubbly. Lastly, “Someone” holds the element od sci-fi urban UK funky with a belter of classic abstract textures, snappy percussion and a mooring wonky bassline wobble that was destined to rock the dance whilst combining UK Funky grooves and 4/4 to flawlessness precision. DJ Spookz takes “Someone” on a more forward thinking UK Funky-slanted voyage of hypnotic grooves.
