About Jonathan Robert Tarver One Man Army Entertainment High School photo Success of a Musician I remember when I was a little boy, five years old. I was filled with dreams. My mom and pops and the family played the radio. I fell in love with my best friend, music. Growing up, listening to the boom box to all the DJ tapes. We use to have so much fun partying. I use to go home and tell my parents how much I loved music. I was always dreaming about being a performing artist, but I never knew what it took. So I went to the school talent show with my guitar. Before I played, I told everyone, when I grow up I want to be a musician one day. I went to a birthday party, listening to the DJ and loving it. My dad gave me a big Hi-Fi stereo, and he told me I have to put together. At first, I was like how do I put it together? This was my first challenge. I began putting the components together, the amplifier to the tape, etc. I hooked them up, it was bassing so good, I felt like a success. At the age of eleven when I went to the local flea market, I bought some tapes. I picked the best that they had – The Sugarhill Gang, DJ Jampony Express, Disco Dave, and Uncle Al. We jammed to it. Six months later, I bought DJ equipment and I started with local DJs in Miami. My first time doing a party was a wedding banquet. The people loved it and it felt good – loving what I do. So I went home with my dreams that I would be famous. Now, I’m in high school in the eleventh grade. I’m free styling in the hall everyday. There would be pretty girls looking at me. Sometimes I’d look at one of the girls. It was like I’d seen her before, but I didn’t know from where, but in my dreams. She always came by and talked to me. Senior year I took music and keyboard classes. My teacher, Mr. Sagi, liked how I played, inspiring my future career. We’d make beats for grades, and I taught my class mates how to play DJ tunes that I learned with my techniques. That year we graduated. I started to see my dreams more clearly. I was building my studio from scratch. I was so filled with passion. I played my music in both of my cars. I met my friend Jadee. He helped me produce and with with software programs – Reason, Acid. I kept producing my music. Later on I got a computer. I tried getting in the industry with the wrong people, but my dreams persevered. A year later, I found an agent in Source Magazine. I sent my demo and got a call in from an agent named Kevin Blake. He told me I had a deal with a company in Chicago, Illinois. I also had another offer to do a music video in New Jersey, but I took the opportunity with Sonic Wave International. I always told my doctor and therapist, when I made it I would open a foundation for mentally challenged kids to help them overcome their obstacles and still live their dreams.
