Jillian Speece and Nathan Hoff, from the band The Bergamot, have been working on an acoustic album for the past 7 years. These two high school sweethearts have a unique story and are ready to share their songs with the world. Hoff and Speece have been described as, "The premier song writing duo from the Midwest". The gifts Jillian has for lyric and melody writing, complemented with Nathan's rhythmic intuitions and refined writing abilities, combines to make an unbelievable songwriting duo. This preview song, "Beautiful April" was inspired by all of the men and women who sacrifice their lives to protect our country. The main source of inspiration for the song was Nathan's brother Alex, who on April 13th, 2010 graduated from Boot Camp. The lyrics for "Beautiful April" were inspired by the letters that Alex had written to his family over the 2 1/2 month period. This song is a preview for the upcoming album set to be released by Hoff and Speece called "The Haven". The Haven is a tribute to the 7 years they have spent together writing and recording. The album will feature their most cherished acoustic songs.
