简介
Tony Carlucci was born in Toronto Canada and started playing trumpet at the tender age of 9. By the age of 11, Tony was gaining experience in all styles of music playing in weekend bands and studying with some of Canada's top Teachers. He quickly became a part of the Studio and TV Scene in Toronto as one of the top trumpet calls going on to play with such names as CORY HART, PERCY SLEDGE, ALFIE ZAPPA COSTA, FROZEN GHOST,THE DRIFTERS, and THE SPOONS. Later, Tony started his own jazz-fusion group with writing partner Lou Bartolomucci, called SYNTHETIC EARTH. Together, they composed original music, and in 1989 were runners up in the Cognac-Hennessy Jazz Search competition held in Los Angeles. This led to signing a record deal with MCA with their first album self titled " Synthetic Earth" . Since then, Tony has gone on to compose theme music for film and television ( "Spectacular Spas", " Second Chance" , "Porthole") He has developed a strong sense of melody in all his compositions. Lou Bartolomucci was born in Toronto Canada and majored in music at York University. He concentrated on jazz studies and performance as a guitarist / pianist. Upon graduating, he became part of the freelance live and studio scene in Toronto. He has performed and musically directed many local artists. He's also worked with some international names such as: Lou Christie, Gary US Bonds, Guido Basso, and The Shirelles . Lou has composed and collaborated with such artists as the late Eria Fachin, (her CD " My Name is Eria Fachin" plus the single " Hug You Hold You" ) and with saxophonist Michael Massaro (co-produced and co-written the CD("It Takes Two"). Lou has contributed cues for such feature films as "Woman Wanted", " Final Goal" and television cues for "Homestyle" , "Spectacular Spas" , and "Second Chance". Lately, Lou has been producing tracks in his studio for up and coming artists in various genres as well as his own future releases. A CD of solo piano is currently in the works. To Date, Tony and Lou have initiated a new project called AMAROSA. It is a smooth Latin jazz album, highly melodic in nature. "We wanted to write and record an instrumental album of original music that was primarily song in nature and highly melodic. The melody was always considered the most important aspect. We then dressed these melodies with light string orchestrations and tight brass arrangements. The album also features some concisely improvised solo's from the flugelhorn, guitar, and piano."
