Although her music definitely reflects the RnB genre, Charlotte Ashdown is not your stereotypical ‘dress-to-impress’ artist. She has given up trying to follow each trend and decided to keep it real, write and perform the music she believes in and have lots of fun doing it. When you see her on stage, you get to know her down-to-earth personality shining through her authentic music and personal lyrics. “I don’t want to be idolised, I’m just the same as everyone else. We’re all just people going through the same things every day.” And there is nothing quite like the feeling when you listen to her music and realise that even though you’ve never met Charlotte, she somehow manages to describe exactly how you’ve felt in a particular moment of your life.

Influenced by artists like Jill Scott and John Legend, Charlotte’s niche music brings back the old-school RnB/Soul sound, but with a modern twist. Her 4-piece all male band makes the songs come to life combining groovy bass patterns, soulful melodies, strong and ambient guitars beats. Even though her voice has often been compared to powerful singers like Joss Stone, Charlotte’s vocals are hardly something you come across every day. Working hard in and out of the studio, you can feel that her heart and soul has gone into every song which you’ll find yourself humming for days on end.
