Kalidas has finished recording a single and video for a song called "This Time". He is also planning on releasing an EP next year. He has also recorded a professional world chant CD entitled "Door to the Infinite" as well as an instrumental fusion guitar CD entitled "Love over Guns". Kalidas is a philosophical pop/rock artist with an occasional comic twist. Kalidas' music stems from his meditative background. He tries to shape his music from the inside out. He lived in the great Southwest where he spent years studying mystical philosophy and volunteering in different Eastern-based spiritual communities. He read every spiritual book he could get his hands on, always trying to understand the Way. As he evolved, he fused his collegiate musical roots with his Eastern philosophical roots. What resulted musically is a unique blend of East and West that ranges from more traditional sounding Indian music to contemporary pop/rock. Kalidas is also a writer and has written two books, "L.A. Sadhu" and "Elements of the Immortal Dance." "L.A. Sadhu" documents his 11 year journey into the world of spiritual communities as well as his years in Los Angeles living as a spiritual practitioner yet simultaneously integrating back into the mainstream culture. "Elements of the Immortal Dance" chronicles his time dealing with personal health challenges. His exploration of Eastern healing modalities helped him cope with the sometimes harsh realities of modern life. Kalidas says about his music, "My art has served a few functions in my life. One, it has helped me process the emotions that I had within. Second, it has helped me express those emotions which I never otherwise would have. As you grow into a more open state of being, the less you have to hide, and the less you have to hide, the more you can share with the world. I hope my art benefits myself and others to live more openly and consciously." A graduate of Vanderbilt University and the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics, Kalidas also provides spiritual coaching and massage/energy work sessions for those who wish to pursue it.
